Run, Walk, Roll in the Colfax Marathon/5K and Benefit Phamaly!

If you are an avid runner, casual runner, outdoor enthusiast, in a wheelchair, have one lung, or just looking for a way to support Phamaly and enjoy the great outdoors on a nice spring day, register for the Colfax Marathon’s 5K in City Park and benefit Phamaly!

Phamaly is a charity partner of the Colfax Marathon on May 18 and 19, 2013. The 5K (3.1 miles) will be held on Saturday, May 18 in City Park in Denver. As a registered participant, you can seek supporters and sponsors for your walk/run/roll, with proceeds benefitting Phamaly programs. The entire route is wheelchair accessible.

Register

1. Go to www.runcolfax.org and click on REGISTER in the upper right hand corner.

2. Scroll down to register for the 5K. The registration fee is $37. (Note: This fee is collected by the Colfax Marathon, not by Phamaly. But you can collect donations and pledges on behalf of Phamaly after you register for the race! See below for details.)

3. During the registration process, say YES when it asks you if you are running on behalf of a charity, and be sure to select Phamaly.

4. Within a few days of registering, we will follow up with you to help you set up your fundraising page. Or you can set up one on your own— see below for details!

Set Up Your Online Fundraising Page

Below are instructions to help you set up a fundraising page online so you can easily email a link to your friends and family and post to Facebook…etc.

1. Go to www.givingfirst.org
2. You will need to set up a donor account. If you already have one, sign in with your email and password. If not, in the upper right hand corner select “Sign Up” and then select “As a Donor.” Complete the information requested.
3. Once you are signed in, you will see a series of tabs. Select “My Campaigns” furthest to the right. On that tab, select “Create Campaign.”
4. On this page, search for Phamaly Theatre Company to select the organization as the benefitting charity. The rest of this page allows you to create the content that you would like on your fundraising page! You can customize your web page link, add a photo, upload a video link from YouTube, set a fundraising goal for yourself, and more. When you are done, click on the button at the bottom that says “Submit for Approval”. A staff member will then be notified to approve your page and you will be ready to roll! (You can always change your fundraising goal and text in the future too.)
5. Don’t forget to promote the page! Send the link to your friends and family and post on Facebook and other Social Media outlets you use!
