Welcome to Phamaly Theatre Company’s 25th Anniversary Season!
25 years ago, five actors in wheelchairs were being turned away at auditions before even saying a word. “We don’t have a role that you could play,” they would hear. They dreamt of a place where they and others with disabilities could perform in a non-discriminatory environment. With the founding of PHAMALY (formerly known as the Physically Handicapped Amateur Musical Actors League), that dream came alive. The actors of PHAMALY began performing an annual musical each summer at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
25 years later, Phamaly Theatre Company has been recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts for its high quality productions and significant contributions to the community. We now perform musicals, dramatic and comedic plays, plus original works year-round throughout the Denver Metro region. With The Velveteen Rabbit, Phamaly is touring schools and venues across the state of Colorado.
This season, Phamaly breaks new ground with a performance debut at the new Lone Tree Arts Center (The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Wiliams), we reprise one of our audience’s favorite musicals of all time (Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), we celebrate Phamaly’s history with two special events, we premiere an all new children’s musical (Rapunzel), plus present two new original comedic plays (disLabled & Vox Phamalia).
Please celebrate this historic season with us!
